A few years ago, when I was building WorkInProgress from scratch, getting software out the door was an exercise in constraint. Every feature was a negotiation with time and resources. Today, those constraints have completely evaporated. Tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and the agents we interact with daily make the cost of writing software practically zero.
It's a rapid shift. Companies are all-in on AI, and hundreds of billions are being spent to not fall behind. I have been thinking a lot about this shift, because when building becomes frictionless it becomes terrifyingly simple to waste our global resources building things that no one wants.
We are entering a time where engineering velocity is no longer a bottleneck, and what has emerged is rather an importance of good judgment.
This is why I am invested in product management today. To bring real value to real people. To design human-centric software that is unquestionably the best canvas for its users. In a world where you can spin up an entire product in a weekend, the only differentiation is the deep desire to fundamentally understand the people you're building for.
Product excellence is developed through iteration, genuine curiosity about the user, and a rigorous approach to craft. It necessitates deep, human intentionality, and cannot be synthesized within the vacuum of a frontier-model.
The next generation world-changing products will be constructed with AI, but they will be built by humans. I aim to create products that make a real difference for real people, ensuring that all things that I build are inherently, and undeniably, human.
