Binance.US is the American arm of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange. I spent 2023 on the Web3 team, first shipping the launch phase of the self-custody wallet and then owning fixed-term staking end to end. Every product I launched required delicate handling of other people's money, while maintaining compliance in a complex regulatory environment.

Fixed-term staking

I led product development for fixed-term staking and launched it to XXX,XXX+ customers, unlocking staking opportunities from 10+ tokens that were not supported prior, lifting staking TVL by XX%.

The build included multiple third-party integrations: I managed the relationships with the external teams, understanding their pricing and API libraries, and translated our needs into technical requirements to handoff to the developers.

Self-custody HD wallet

I led end-to-end development of a self-custody wallet from inception alongside a senior PM, owning the product specs and engineering deliverables through to on-time internal UAT.

I defined the system architecture, evaluated key-custody strategies, and mapped the API integration flows that connect a wallet to decentralized applications.

I also proposed and delivered the wallet's end-to-end OFAC compliance product, reaching 100% OFAC coverage across XX,XXX+ daily transactions. Delivering it meant owning the third-party vendor integrations, involving pricing and scalability modelling, and weighing cost-benefit tradeoffs across multiple API vendors and a proprietary solution.

WalletConnect

I led a 5-person cross-functional team as PM to ship the WalletConnect integration, unlocking transactions across 40,000+ dApps for wallet users.

I built the connection and signing flows as mockups in Figma, and used them to align designers, engineers and legal teams on a shared solution. From there I integrated the WalletConnect API library into the wallet, mapping each call to the needs dictated in a strict PRD.

WalletConnect shipped inside Phase 1 of the Web3 wallet in an on-time global rollout, after an internal UAT.
